Wine Tasting Event In The Turtle Ridge Clubhouse

The December 4th, 2015 wine tasting event in the Turtle Ridge Clubhouse featured the second annual tasting of wines from Fattoria La Vialla. Once again our Turtle Ridge neighbor, Volker Blaschke, arranged for this event with a special shipment of Italian wines from the region of Tuscany. The farm and wine estate, Fattoria La Vialla, is well known throughout Europe.  The owners of the Fattoria, provided these wines as a courtesy to the Turtle Ridge community to share their enthusiasm for fine organic wines with aficionados in Southern California.  The wines will be available to customers in the US in late January 2016 through

Our tasting will include five wines, most of them being different from those we served at last year's tasting from this winery:

Spumante Metodo Classico 2012, "il 35" Extra Brut. (Méthode Traditionelle) Sparkling wine made to celebrate the winery's 35th anniversary.

Vernaccia di S.Gimignano 2014. A smooth, full and complex white wine with almond, dried fruit and floral notes on the nose.

Torbolino 2014.  A gold medal winning white wine.

Vin Santo 2010.  A delicious dessert wine. Served with amaretto biscuits.

Chianti Riserva 2012.  Italy's best known wine, Chianti offers an attractive mix of lively acidity along with an attractive mix of fruit, herbs and mature flavors.

Fattoria La Vialla is a family run organic farm located in the hills of Chianti between Florence and Arezzo in Italy. The farm has been growing organic produce since 1978 and achieved major recognition. Among them Best Producer “Italy Organic “ at the Berlin Wine Trophy in  2013, 2014 and 2015 .
